Organization and Committee

Activities of the Committees
Various committees are organized within JAIMA to respond to requests from and submit advice and proposals to the board of directors. At present, the following committees are assigned to the specific tasks explained below. Each committee is made up of staff members chosen from member firms of JAIMA, approved by the board of directors, and commissioned by the chairman.
(1) Strategic Planning Council
The responsibilities of this committee are to grasp the current trends in the analytical instrument industry and conduct activities to strengthen the development of the JAIMA organization. The main tasks of this committee are as follows.

Conducting statistical research and analysis of analytical
instrument demand, production, and export. |
| 2. |
Researching potential demand for analytical instruments. |
| 3. |
Strengthening JAIMA's membership structure. |
| 4. |
Strengthening JAIMA's financial status. |
| 5. |
Strengthening JAIMA's committees' structure. |
| 6. |
Examining the budgets proposed by JAIMA's standing committees. |
| 7. |
Preparing materials to be submitted to government agencies
and/or related industrial organizations concerning the application of analytical
instruments. |
(2) Technical Affairs Committee
All technical matters are discussed first in this committee. The main tasks of this committee are as follows.

Discussing the preparation of technical materials. |
| 2. |
Monitoring and gathering information on the latest technological advances of analytical instruments. |
| 3. |
Examining and preparing proposed industrial standards. |
| 4. |
Compiling the JAIMA Analytical Instrument Handbook. |
| 5. |
Preparing materials to be submitted to government agencies and/or related industrial organizations concerning technical matters related to analytical instruments. |
(3) Environmental Technical Committee
Technical matters related to environmental instrumentation are discussed in this committee. The main tasks of this committee are as follows.

Discussing the preparation of related materials. |
| 2. |
Researching environmental technology. |
| 3. |
Examining and preparing proposed industrial standards. |
| 4. |
Compiling the environmental technology section of the JAIMA
Analytical Instrument Handbook. |
| 5. |
Preparing materials to be submitted to government agencies and/or related industrial organizations concerning technical matters related to environmental instrumentation. |
(4) Labor Relations Committee
Matters related to labor relations in the analytical instrument industry are discussed in this committee. The main tasks of this committee are as follows.

Researching, exchanging information, and examining case studies
regarding labor relations. |
| 2. |
Preparing materials to be submitted to government agencies
and/or related industrial organizations concerning labor relations. |
(5) Intellectual Property Committee
Matters related to intellectual property are discussed in this committee. The main tasks of this committee are as follows.

Researching domestic/international legislation
in relation to the protection of intellectual property. |
| 2. |
Researching systems for controlling intellectual property. |
| 3. |
Studying and exchange information about patent
regulation systems. |
| 4. |
Preparing materials to be submitted to government agencies and/or related industrial organizations concerning the protection of intellectual property. |
(6) Global Marketing Committee
Matters related to the global marketing of analytical instruments are discussed in this committee. The main tasks of this committee are as follows.

Exchanging information about foreign markets and import/export
regulations. |
| 2. |
Promoting publicity aimed at foreign markets. |
| 3. |
Participating in, cooperating with, and organizing study tours
of trade shows and/or exhibitions held outside Japan. |
| 4. |
Promoting interchange between JAIMA and international organizations
related to the analytical instrument industry. |
| 5. |
Preparing materials to be submitted to government agencies
and/or related industrial organizations concerning global marketing. |
(7) In Vitro Diagnostic Clinical Instrument Committee
Matters related to medical and clinical instruments are discussed in this committee. The main tasks of this committee are as follows.

Researching and developing analytical instruments for use in the medical/clinical field. |
| 2. |
Researching instrument standards, product liability, and occupational safety and health. |
| 3. |
Studying regulations regarding compliance with the relevant laws and related legislation concerning the medical/clinical field. |
| 4. |
Researching potential demand. |
| 5. |
Preparing materials to be submitted to government agencies and/or related industrial organizations concerning medical/clinical instruments. |
(8) Public Relations Committee
Matters related to JAIMA's public relations are discussed in this committee. The main tasks of this committee are as follows.

Planning and promoting the JAIMA SHOW and events held concurrently. |
| 2. |
Editing and publishing the JAIMA bulletin. |
| 3. |
Planning and promoting various publicity activities via the
electronic media network. |
| 4. |
Compiling the JAIMA Analytical Instrument Catalog. |
| 5. |
Planning and executing various JAIMA public relations activities. |
