Japan Analytical Instruments Manufacturers' Association -JAIMA- is a nation wide association of Japanese analytical instrument manufacturers and its sellers.
When JAIMA was established in 1960 by 18 companies, our yearly turnover of all member companies total was 3.5 billion JPY.
Since then, the progress of analytical technology and products has been so fast and drastic, driven by the very demanding modern industry's needs to cover a broad range of application in research laboratories, process control, environment monitoring, in-vitro diagnostic clinical applications, laboratory automation and others.
Now, JAIMA registered 117 member companies and 87 associate members, and our activities have become global with 2006 total sales reached to 425 billion JPY and 50% of it has been for export to worldwide.

Activities at JAIMA are done by eight (8) regular committees.
The variety of those activities are; participating government activities, collaborating with other associations in events, organizing yearly trade show called [JAIMA SHOW], research on market trend, participating international standardization (JIS,ISO,IEC) activities and so on.
In recent years, with an expansion of our products to the international market, activities cooperating with the foreign associations are drastically increasing.

The importance of analytical technology is continuously increasing, since analysis is an essential factor for development of new technologies and products in all of the manufacturing industry, and also vital for our daily lives in the area like environment monitoring and foods safety.
Therefore, we analytical instruments industry are required to keep the high technological capability and the capacity to supply top notch instruments to meet the increasingly demanding market needs.
